Meet The Team
Zinzi Robles /
Founder & Managing Director
Zinzi Robles is a general practitioner who graduated from the University of Monterrey in Nuevo León, Mexico, in 2016. She began her career in women’s health in Chiapas before relocating to Austin, Texas, with her husband. A lifelong lover of literature and children’s books, she eventually transitioned from medicine to publishing, bringing her precision, organization, and empathy to storytelling.
Zinzi joined Mission Point Press, where she quickly advanced from Project Manager to Production Manager, and ultimately Production Director. As a Project Manager, she led numerous children’s books from manuscript to publication, guiding authors and illustrators through every phase of development. As Production Director, she oversaw more than forty titles at a time across genres—managing editorial, design, illustration, and production teams with exceptional attention to detail. She built the company’s workflows and standard operating procedures from the ground up, creating efficient systems that improved communication, accelerated timelines, and strengthened collaboration across departments. Her leadership ensured that every book—whether a picture book, memoir, or novel—was produced to the highest professional standard and delivered on schedule.
In 2024, she founded Sea Star Books, a family-owned hybrid press that specializes in beautifully crafted children’s and adult titles. Her mission is to blend artistry and precision while fostering inclusivity and amplifying the diverse voices that reflect the richness of this country. Zinzi lives in Austin, Texas, with her husband and three dogs—and still reads children’s books to herself whenever she visits the bookstore.

Back in the U.S., she raised two children—the wellspring for many of her picture books exploring family life, stage fright, homesickness, adoption, and more. Her work has been published by Greenwillow/HarperCollins, Farrar, Straus and Giroux, Tanglewood, and Full Cycle Publications. In 2017, she began creating mosaics; Z Is for Zebra: A Mosaic Menagerie which earned a bronze eLit Award.
